Membership Contracts + Waiver Details

Howdy Humanitarians!

We’ve had some questions come up recently where it became clear to us that not everyone was reading the membership contracts and waivers that y’all sign when you become a member at CrossFit Humanity, so we wanted to give you a little outline to ensure everyone has another opportunity to review the details. These aren’t new, but we’ve all had the “too lazy to read the waiver” moments so we’re just putting it out there again!

If you have any questions about the membership contracts or waiver, please let us know. We just want to ensure that everyone has an extra opportunity to read this stuff. This blog post will stay up if you ever need to find the information in the future.

Membership Contracts

Monthly Fee: Payable each month via autopay on the day of the month you signed up (ie, if you join on Feb. 20th, you’ll be charged on the 20th of each month thereafter…)

Contract Renewal: The membership contract is in force for a minimum of three months from the Contract Start Date, with automatic renewal for subsequent months, unless cancelled by The Client, with notification of 30 days in advance of the next billing date in writing. If you need to cancel your membership, please email us at cara [at] crossfithumanity.com

Early Termination of Contract: If  you need to cancel your contract during the initial three month minimum period, one of the following must be presented: (1) Doctor’s Note indicating inability to participate in physical activities, (2) Change of Residence – moving 25-mile outside of radius (utility bill/lease, etc required), or (3) Proof of Deployment .If you cannot present any of the above, a one-time Early Termination Fee of $75 will be charged to cancel the membership.

Termination of Contract: If you need to cancel your membership after the initial 3 month minimum period, you may do so at any time by submitting a written request at least 30 days in advance of your billing cycle. (e.g., If you are to be charged on Feb 20th and you’d like to cancel so you will not be charged on Feb. 20th, you must submit your request in writing to us by January 20th).

Please note that if you choose to terminate your contract and re-join at a later date, your new contract will be at the current membership price, not your old price (if the price has changed since your original contract began).

Membership Hold: You can freeze your autopay schedule once per year at any time for a fee of $35 per month. The freeze is activated at the start of the next billing cycle and can be requested in monthly increments for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 6 months. To request the freeze, please submit a written request (email cara [at] crossfithumanity.com) including your phone number and email address, desired dates that you’d like your account frozen, and the reason for the hold. Following the end of your requested freeze period, your monthly auto-renew will automatically be reactivated.

If you find yourself in a special situation and want to discuss freezing your account outside the terms above, please email us! We are always happy to look at each individual scenario and see what we can do.
